Vandemataram Foundation (VMF) was established in 2005 with an objective to inculcate moral values and improve quality of education in under-resourced rural schools. VMF plays a catalytic role in strengthening government schools through various programmes.

The foundation also runs Akshara Vanam (AV), an educational research center that develops scalable and sustainable child-centered learning programmes. AV’s programmes are implemented in VMF study centers and camps to improve foundational numeracy and literacy.
