‘Good parenting’
nurtures accommodative and happy children.
Needless to say that childhood is the most significant phase in any person’s life because it determines what kind of person the child grows into. A man is the product of the parenting, the immediate surroundings, the education, the influences he had as a child.
The modern world has thrown us all onto an unstoppable wheel of material pursuits, pleasures and cut-throat competition and we have been running so fast in building our careers, making more money and increasing our assets that we do not find time to be with our children and see them grow in the right way taking care of their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs. The explosion of internet, social media and the invention of modern gadgets have, ironically, made things more complicated.
Now, more than ever before, parenting has become a very tough task and one that calls for an immediate attention because the well-being of the very society and country we are living in depends on the attitude and the outlook of the children we nurture.
Parenting does not confine itself to satisfying the physical needs of the children and giving them education and if it does it only means pursuing more money because more money means, at least as the society sees it today, more delicious or varied food, better and expensive clothing, more spacious and luxurious shelters and costlier education. Though the parental urge to provide everything better for the children can be neither debated nor scorned, there lies beyond all this the ‘heart of parenting’- the efforts of the parents to love, care for, understand, admonish, guide, respond and respect their children so that they grow into healthy social individuals capable of making their lives happy and thus spreading happiness into others’ lives too.
It is indispensably necessary to instill in children the joyful need of learning, healthy attitudes, habits and positive traits so that they grow up to become accommodative and happy individuals.
Though parenting is a natural and an instinctive skill, the complexities of modern life have made it very challenging and complicated. Hence a platform to talk about what we can do to overcome the challenges and become better parents would be very useful and that is what this workshop on the art of parenting is all about.
Please join us at the workshop where great minds come to talk about how we can instill good learning habits among the children, how they can be motivated to cultivate good work culture, how human values and positive traits can be instilled in them and in the process how we can enjoy the blissful feeling of becoming a better and mindful parent to our little angels.
